9. The Grace!

Author's POV

Mira was sitting on her balcony. Her room gives a front view of the house and she was waiting for Damon's death news.

She knew that after whatever she did, his gun is not going to work and after looking at the pattern of the last few months she also knows that Goels will attack.

Damon wasn't going to survive without a gun. The man was getting on her nerves every day.

She couldn't understand why he acted like that when she told him that it's from her husband. He actually burned the book. There was something in his eyes when he emphasized the 'dead' word.

It's like he was making sure that he is dead in her head.

She told him that it's from her husband but it was actually not. That book was just random in which she started drawing. She thought Damon would give it to her if she told him that it was from her husband but his reaction was completely different. It was more like she provoked him to burn it.

She looked at arriving cars curiously, waiting for the news but the cars stopped one after another in a disciplined way and the guard opened the door.

Her hopes crashed down when she saw Damon coming out of the car like a king. The powerful aura and arrogance was god gifted. She sighed annoyed.

He fixed his jacket and her stomach churned when he looked straight towards her and deep in her eyes.

His expressions told her that he knows.

She glared back at him and walked back into her room. Not giving away any emotion other than anger.

Damon smirked when he saw disappointment in her eyes, he knew she would be shocked after seeing him.

He was in deep thoughts when he entered the house. Durga approached him when she saw him coming inside.

"Damon!"

He stopped and looked at her, waiting for her to speak.

"Gold or Platinum?"

She asked.

"What?"

He looked at her confused.

"What ring do you want? Gold or Platinum?"

She asked.

"So I can inform the jewelers to bring it accordingly."

"Anything you like, Mira... I don't care"

He dismissed and walked away.

Durga looked at him shocked as he walked away.

"Mira?"

She frowned.

Yang who was behind Damon noticed it.

"He was thinking about Mira so maybe it slipped out of his mouth."

Yang chuckled awkwardly.

"Why is he thinking about Mira?"

Durga frowned.

"Actually they had a fight again when we were leaving!"

He informed.

"Oh god! Again?"

She asked shocked.

"Why?"

"I don't know... But I think Mira is still angry with him and Damon thinks that maybe he is doing something wrong that's why Mira hates him... He doesn't like when someone is mad at him. Actually we were talking about that just now when we entered inside..."

He lied.

"Maybe that's why he called you Mira."

"Ohh! I know, Mira can be too much sometimes but you can tell Damon to relax... I am sure she will come along... He doesn't have to think so much about it"

Durga assured.

"You are such a good wifey... Damon is lucky!"

Yang smiled at her innocence and she smiled back.

"He likes platinum by the way... And not something flashy"

Her smile widened.

"Thanks for the tip..."

He sighed when she walked away.

"What are you doing, Damon?"

He mumbled while shaking his head.

Damon freshened up and laid on his bed. When he closed his eyes, her face flashed in front of him.

Those dancing long hair, big eyes which are angry most of the time, those fierce lips and challenging words, it was making his heart pain sweetly.

What she did today was truly commendable, he couldn't believe that the woman tried to kill him. And she would have succeeded if he wouldn't keep the second gun with him.

She is smart, she is brave and she is cunning. The dangerous combination which he has never seen before. He always thought that women are delicate things.

"You called her Mira, Damon! What were you thinking?"

Yang asked as he entered.

Damon looked at him and smirked. He sighed and looked at the chandelier hanging to the ceiling.

"She has beautiful eyes which dazzle, Yang. Her hair always touches my face like soft feathers when she is close to me. She smells like a wild wind and looks like a fire... She looks like the rhythm of beautiful dance form when she walks angrily towards me. She captures things in drawing as it is, just like she has grabbed my attention..."

He said in daze.

"She knows how to use a gun..."

He looked at him impressed.

"And she worships goddess Kali, do you know she is also known as goddess of death... Isn't it amazing?"

Yang smiled.

"Good to know that you pay attention to her... I am relieved now... Durga deserves this attention!.. see you later!"

He left the room with a smile.

Damon smirked at himself.

"Not Durga, Yang... Mira!"

His phone rang and he saw Rafael's name on it. Damon answered it.

"How is it going?"

Rafael asked.

"Just the way I want!"

Damon smiled.

"I am proud of you, Damon... You are doing a big thing to get the deal..."

He appreciated.

"I have a surprise for you when you come back."

"Anything to make things right, Rafael... Expansion is the only thing which matters right now."

He replied.

"Good! How's the girl?... Is she just a deal?"

He asked.

"She is a fire!"

Damon smirked.

Rafael chuckled.

"I was expecting a 'flower' not 'fire' from you!..."

He disconnected the call and Damon sighed.

"Little fire!"

He mumbled as he closed his eyes.

The morning was a little chaotic for Damon as he came out of his room and people were everywhere in colourful clothes, sarees and kids were running around.

"Did I miss something?"

He looked at Yang confused who came out at the same time.

"No, but it's an Indian wedding and I just got to know that people do things together... Just like ladies are buying clothes and jewellery for functions downstairs... I swear! I am loving this chaos... And there are some pretty girls downstairs, I am going"

He grinned and walked downstairs.

Damon followed him and saw a big circle of ladies around clothes. This was the first time he was seeing this kind of shopping but it looked interesting.

"ये है दूल्हा?" (Is he the groom?)

One lady nudged Maya.

"हा!" (Yes!)

She nodded with a smile.

"Durga is a lucky girl... Look at the man, he is so handsome."

Durga blushed at the lady's words. And Maya shook at her classy friend.

Damon looked at them amused but he was looking for someone else who was missing. He finally noticed Mira coming downstairs, she was clearly ignoring the crowd and rushing out. Maybe she knew that someone would say something. She ignored Damon too by walking past him.

"मीरा, तुम्हें कुछ नहीं लेना?" (Mira, aren't you going to buy anything?)

The same lady said.

Mira froze in her place but didn't turn around. Damon noticed how her face turned red with embarrassment.

"मजाक कर रही हो?  मीरा का जेवर और रंगो से क्या लेना देना" (Are you kidding? Mira has nothing to do with jewellery and colours...)

Kalindi mocked her and Mira glared at her.

"देखो कैसे आँखे दिखा रही है" (Always throwing daggers with eyes...)

She looked at Mira mockingly.

"मुझ पर एहसान करो, मैडम और functions से दूर रहो... मैं नहीं चाहती कि आपकी महनुसियत इसे बर्बाद कर दे।" (Do me a favour, madam and stay away from functions... I don't want your bad luck ruining it.)

Mira gulped down the embarrassed and stormed out of the house.

Maya and Durga looked at Kalindi angrily.

Damon followed Mira as she left the house hurt. He came out but she was nowhere, then he caught a glimpse of her white saree and followed her again.

She walked out of the gate and crossed the road. Damon noticed that she is going towards the horse stable where Thakurs keep their horses.

She walked behind the stable and he didn't know that there was an abandoned house. It was made of stones, indicating that it was an old creation. It was not as big as the palace but big enough to call it a villa.

He stopped by the wall when he noticed Mira sitting at the broken stairs. The place was like an open varanda which was covered by broken walls.

He stood silently as she removed the stone from the wall which had half fallen.

His eyebrows furrowed when he noticed that she had hidden something in the wall.

She grabbed the small bag which she was hiding there and he heard a musical sound when she opened the bag.

Mira took out her ghungroos from the bag and checked them, they had gotten old and were almost worn off but she had the only pair which she kept hidden from everyone.

No one comes to this place which gives her a chance to dance her heart out.

Damon looked at her with a smile as she tied ghungroos around her ankles. He knew that she has grace in her body after noticing the way she walks, it's god gifted.

He looked at her curiously as she played the music on the phone and got up while tucking the loose end of her saree in her waist, she gently lifted her drape up and again tucked it in her waist.

The pain was clearly visible in her eyes. She was angry but also in pain. The embarrassment which her own grandmother is making her feel was shameful.

Damon leaned against the wall with folded hands when she tapped her bare feet on the ground creating the musical sound.

She was doing roudra kathak which expresses anger as emotion.

Her hands cut through air gracefully as her body merged with the music. Every part of her body equally participated in the grace, her long hair complimented the emotions she was expressing with her anger. Her big eyes spoke volumes.

Damon's heart rhythmed with every tap of her feet on the ground.

She was looking like a divine goddess while dancing but the white colour still irritated him. He has started hating white after watching her wearing that.

He couldn't take his eyes off, her every move captivated him. It's like she is telling him how angry she is. He never knew that emotions could be expressed like this through dance.

Mira was completely lost in the dance, the humiliating words were ringing in her ears with each step, fueling her anger more.

She doesn't deserve this, she never deserved this life.

No one has the right to treat her like this but they are doing it because they are powerful and she doesn't have the power right now. It doesn't mean she was going to let it slide, everyone was going to pay for everything they have done to and she will make sure of that.

She circled with each promise to avenge her disrespect, her humiliation and her pain.

Damon frowned as she didn't stop and kept doing angry rounds. The ground was not even soft, it was an abandoned place and there were many small stones which were pricking her feet.

He flinched when her ghungroos broke and one almost hit him in the eye but he caught it.

Mira stopped while breathing heavily as she looked at her scattered ghungroos. She sat on the ground while catching her breath and closed her eyes to control her anger.

Damon looked at the single ghungroo on his palm and placed it in his pocket while walking away.

Mira gathered her broken ghungroos and placed them in the bag. She knew they would shatter but she was going to fix them, just like she fixed herself after shattering.

She didn't go home, she decided to spend the day there and watch movie on her phone to avoid drama in the house. She stayed there until she realised that it's late and it's going to turn dark soon.

She grabbed the bag and came out of the place thinking that she will fix them in her room to reuse.

But when she came out and entered the main gate of the palace, she saw Kalindi standing in front of her. Mira froze in her place when she saw her grandmother.

Before she could speak, she received a harsh slap on her cheek and her head snapped aside.

Mira looked at her shocked and noticed that Damon is standing behind Kalindi with the evil smirk.
